Fall Fun

Yesterday Andrew and I went to Sinkland Farms in Christiansburg, VA. In case you don't remember, this was the same place where we attended a wedding a few weeks ago. It was certainly a much different scene yesterday with lots of families, pumpkins, and other festivities. The main reason we went was to get our pumpkin for this year, but we also enjoyed the corn maze and some kettle corn while we were there. We also really enjoyed the drive to and from, as the leaves are just starting to change and it was a gorgeous day.

Us in the corn maze

Finding our way through the maze

We love kettle corn!

This is "Techtron"...basically this really tall, strange, robot-like Hokie bird made of stuff you buy from Lowe's.

They also had a petting zoo

and miniature horse rides (they were really cute).

I had a hard time picking out which pumpkin I wanted.

But we finally found the one!

Here he is in front of our house.

So, that was our fun day on the farm! I'm glad we got our pumpkin because Fall and Halloween will be here before we know it. We're looking forward to the cooler temperatures and all of the cozy goodness of Fall.

Andrew and I are also looking forward to going back to Martinsville in 2 weeks for the NASCAR race. As you may remember, we tried to go this past March but it got rained out. So, please keep your fingers crossed that the weather will cooperate for us this time!

In other news, I signed up for my first ever half marathon. It's the Star City Half Marathon and it will be on November 20th. I'm pretty excited but still a little nervous about it. With this being my first half, I'm not really concerned with how long it's going to take me...I just want to finish! I'll let you know how it goes!
